The 11 Best Late Night Eats in Cincinnati

It’s getting late… you’re getting hungry, and every fast food restaurant is now closed… we know where you want to go!

1. Gomez

Sometimes you just wish that Chipotle stayed open later, but who needs them anyway when Gomez is open until 3AM on Saturdays? Plus, the prices are better and the burritos are so much better. You have to try the Turtle. It’s the best cure OTR has to offer for the drunchies.

Pro Tip: They’re only open Thursday-Saturday. So don’t try to dip in when they’re not open.

2. The Anchor Grill

So, you’ve had a little too much to drink in your escapades at Mainstrasse, and now you’ve got the drunken munchies. Good thing Anchor Grill is only two streets away. Offering everything from goetta & cheese omelettes to ribeye sandwiches, this place has everything to satisfy your hunger. The jukebox is a riot, by the way… watch the little doll band: It’s hilarious.

Pro Tip: Cash only here! They do have an ATM in the corner, though!

3. Drunken Bento

Why does everything in Clifton have to close so early, you ask? Well, we don’t know either, but this place is open way late and the sushi is killer. After getting reckless at a house party or knocking back a few pitchers at the bar, this is the best place to get some quality sushi that won’t break the bank. Oh, and bring a sharpie, they let you write your drunk messages on the wall.

4. The Original Skyline Chili

Just when you were about to give up and make that frozen pizza… yes, Cincinnatians, there is, in fact, a Skyline that stays open until the wee hours of the morning. You’re sure to hear a good story or two from a drunken college student while enjoying the city’s best chili.

5. Lucy Blue

When it comes to late night pizza, there’s no place that will ever beat Lucy Blue. A favorite among the drunken masses swarming home from OTR, you’ll see this place packed up until the moment it closes on the weekends. If you haven’t tried the Blanco Quatro Fromaggia, you haven’t lived yet.

6. Shanghai Mamas

What better traditional drunk food than some Chinese? You’ll catch one or two intoxicated patrons playing with their noodles if you venture here on a weekend night, but it’s the only place you’ll be able to get your fill of fried rice at 3AM. Trust us, it’s a great way to prevent a hangover.

7. The Pepper Pod

After kicking back a few at Arnie’s or the Levee, there’s no better place to wander to late at night. You can gorge yourself with mounds of biscuits & gravy. They do a great job of absorbing alcohol, and the yocals provide quite a bit of comedic relief.

8. Pleasant Ridge Chili

Okay, so how many places are open to deal with drunk people until 4:30AM? Not many. This little place draws in some of the more… interesting crowd being open this late, but still has some of the best chili in town. Plenty of your drunken nights should be spent here.

9. Madonna’s Bar & Grill

Madonna’s may not be open as late as some of the other places on this list, but it’s one of the only bars that keep their grill open late. What better to calm your appetite’s cravings than a juicy burger that requires no work? After you drink yourself silly all you have to do is stumble back over to the bar for drunk food. It’s a wonderful system.

10. J. Gumbo’s

Sometimes, you just need some soul food at 2AM, and J. Gumbos provides. Their crawdad is on point after having a few drinks on Ludlow. If you don’t mind the crowds of drunken hipsters arguing over the best new band this late, this is the place for you.

11. Goodfellas Pizza

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie in Mainstrasse… you’ve probably had a few too many. Good thing Goodfellas Pizza is open way late on Friday and Saturday to let their pizza absorb all of your booze. Grabbing one of their pizzas and taking in a late night view of the city makes for a memorable (or not so memorable…) night. You can keep it simple here with their pepperoni pizza. The slices are huge! Plus, they’re opening a new spot right in across from Japp’s in OTR. They’re too good to us.
