Gerstle’s Annual Halloween Party With Lazy Sunday and Smoke Shop Kids

Gerstle’s is a low-key place in the St. Matthews area that is known for its great live music. Halloween night, they’ll be presenting a costume contest with a $100 cash prize for first place and $50 for second.

If the costumes and booze aren’t enough to draw you, come out to see Lazy Sunday – a Highlands favorite with a sound that’s somewhere between My Morning Jacket and Sublime, and Smoke Shop Kids, bringing you some kind of funky hip-hop sound. Phoenix Hill Tavern is one of the longest-standing bars in the Highlands and its Halloween Party is one of the city’s largest and longest-running. If you’ve never been to Phoenix Hill, the building itself is a spectacular maze of two stories and a rooftop garden with live music, dancing cages and bars. Puddle of Mudd will be there to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve alt-rock style. The costume contest will be held at midnight and somewhere in the ballpark of $5,000 in prizes will be given away so you can expect to have some formidable contenders.
